Following Ford’s decision to discontinue its Fiesta, Focus, and Fusion models in the United States, the automaker was discovered to be embarking on a non-traditional path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While its rival Japanese brands are still very actively pursuing the traditional segment, Ford appears to be re-focusing its efforts on trucks, SUVs, crossovers, Mustangs, and electric vehicles. Some of its highly-anticipated models include the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E, the Ford Bronco Sport, and the baby Bronco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But other than these models, Ford is also believed to be exploring another potential off-road variant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to New F150 Forum, the Blue Oval has filed a new trademark application for the name “Wolftrak.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is likely that the new trademark will be used for the upcoming 14th generation of the Ford F-150 and will be similar to the company’s Ranger Wildtrak edition that is currently exclusive in Europe. With the F-150 being the best-selling truck in America, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if it gets a new edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ranger Wildtrak is marketed as a sport-luxury model that combines off-road capabilities with general on-road comfort. If the Wolftrak does the same for the F-150, American customers could be looking at another off-road-ready truck. Moreover, it could also be slotted between the F-150 XLT and Raptor. But then, nothing can be confirmed as of press time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, the only thing certain is that the documents for the trademark application state that it is for use with “motor vehicles, namely, automobiles, pick-up trucks, electric vehicles, sport-utility vehicles, off-road vehicles, and their structural parts.”
