During the launch of the 2020 Hyundai Sonata<\/a>, the automaker gave a peek into the prototype version of its sibling, the Sonata N-Line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The standard Sonata is packed with either a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 180 horsepower or a 2.5-liter normally aspirated engine that makes 191 horsepower. But for the N-Line, the engine is said to offer a significant upgrade in the performance department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to arrive later this year, the Sonata N-Line will be powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a turbocharger that makes 290 horsepower through the new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to industry sources, Hyundai has already finalized the production schedule for the Sonata N-Line and begun the certification process. This means the model is likely going to be revealed sometime before the end of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

.The same sources are saying that Hyundai is set to begin the production of the Sonata N-Line in May, while an official reveal could be planned for the 2020 Detroit International Auto Show. That is, if the event pushes through in June as scheduled given the current state of things due to the coronavirus outbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sonata N-Line is also expected to feature an improved cooling system and 19-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli performance tires. It will also get the same treatment as the Kia Optima in terms of badging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is still uncertain when Hyundai<\/a> plans to launch the Sonata N-Line, but considering the success of the Elantra N-Line, it wouldn’t be surprising if the company does a similar event for the sedan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hyundai is set to release an N-Line version of the new Elantra after the official reveal of the Sonata N-Line. This will also be followed by a more powerful Elantra N model.
