A new Ford F-150 is currently being developed and reports have it that the pickup will have a Hellcat engine. Although not a lot of details have been revealed, the truck is expected to have eight cylinders.<\/p>\n

The truck currently sports a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, making 450 horsepower. But the engine sprouts a lot of complaints from consumers, creating clamor to have the model carry a V8 roar and it looks like Ford is indulging the consumers.<\/p>\n

According to reports, the automaker is currently testing a new Ford F-150 with a V8 engine that could rival the Ram Rebel TRX that has a Hellcat V8 with over 700 horsepower.<\/p>\n

The use of a better-performing engine is an attempt to keep the F-150 on top as the off-road apex predator.<\/p>\n

There are also reports that Ford could possibly go with the 7.3-liter pushrod V8 instead, a compact engine which the brand previously said will be the most powerful gasoline V8 in its class.
