It’s no secret the Hyundai Santa Fe<\/a>is getting a redesign for the 2021 model year. But what people have yet to know is that the model will not look anything like its Kia sibling, the Kia Sorento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2021 Kia Sorento has just been officially revealed after a series of leaks before its scheduled arrival. And like Kia, Hyundai is also working on a new version of the Sorento’s counterpart in its lineup—the Santa Fe—due for release in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upcoming Santa Fe was previously spotted while undergoing winter testing and it is expected to show huge improvement from the current generation. Experts think that if the new Sorento is any indication, the all-new 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe could be among the best vehicles in its segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the Santa Fe will join the Sorento on the same platform and will be equipped with the same engine, Hyundai remains firm that it will have a different styling. In fact, the Santa Fe and the Sorento are said to be indistinguishable like their larger siblings, the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just recently, the Santa Fe was once again spotted on another winter test run, although practically covered with the same amount of camouflage as its previous outing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new batch of spy photos can confirm that the model is riding on a new set of wheels, which appear to be for a higher trim level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For its front fascia, the new Santa Fe will likely retain its signature split headlight design that has been adopted by other models in the Hyundai’s SUV lineup. The rear part, meanwhile, will have the taillights looking similar to the current model but with a slightly revised shape. New bumpers are expected, but it can’t be confirmed at the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it arrives, the Santa Fe will be offered with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 290 horsepower. Its hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions will likely be equipped with a smaller 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder paired with an electric motor to produce 226 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
