For the first time in 20 years, BMW won’t be releasing models from its new 3-Series in the United States.<\/p>\n

The company recently revealed that it will be developing a wagon version of the series with revamped looks, new suspension, and updated tech features such as the G20-chassis 3-Series sedan, which was first introduced in late 2018.<\/p>\n

But unlike three generations of the 3-Series Touring, the new range will not be available in America.<\/p>\n

BMW’s 2020 3-Series Touring will offer six different engine options when it launches in Europe later this year – three diesels and three gas-powered motors. The two cheapest diesels to be released – the 318d and 320d – will use turbocharged inline-fours and come with a standard six-speed manual transmission. An eight-speed automatic transmission, meanwhile, will be available as an option. The priciest model diesel in the range, the straight-six 330d, as well as all gas-powered models will have the automatic standard.<\/p>\n

The M340i, the most powerful gas-powered model, makes 374 horsepower with its 3.0-liter turbo inline-six. The all-wheel drive is a standard for the six-cylinder diesel and gas models, and is also available as an option for the 320d and 330i. A plug-in hybrid is expected to be included in the range come 2020.<\/p>\n

The 3-Series Touring features more than 53 cubic feet of storage space when seats are folded. And like its predecessors, the rear glass can open from the hatch separately, allowing for easy loading or transporting longer items.<\/p>\n

BMW previously confirmed in December 2018 that the 3-Series Touring will not be made available in the U.S. after 20 years of being in the market. The 3-Series was the last BMW wagon sold in America after the company discontinued sales of 5-Series Touring in the region in 2010. The move, however, is not surprising as wagons have a smaller share in the U.S. market.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
