Fiat Chrysler Automobiles announced it is pushing back the production of two Jeep SUVs set to be part of the 2021 lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Automotive News, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer<\/a> and Grand Cherokee<\/a> will enter production three months late. FCA has previously said it is expecting that both vehicles will arrive in time for the 2021 model year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement it shared with Car and Driver, however, a spokesperson for FCA declined to confirm the report, saying instead that the automaker is expecting “some period of delay” to its programs as a result of the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2021 Grand Wagoneer was being groomed to be the reintroduction of the SUV that was discontinued in the early 1990s. It will feature three rows and will be competing with the Ford Expedition and Chevrolet Tahoe. The Jeep Grand Cherokee, meanwhile, will receive a complete overhaul for the next model year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision comes in the heels of other reports that several automakers in America have begun examining ways to resume production in the coming weeks or months. FCA is said to be looking at resuming production at its factories beginning May 4 in the U.S. and May 18 in Canada.
