The scheduled May 20 reveal of the new GMC Hummer EV<\/a> is no longer pushing through. The automaker confirmed this announced the news in a statement, saying it will be postponed to a yet-to-be-determined date due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite this, however, GMC clarified that the development of the vehicle was not affected by factory closures and shelter-in-place orders in the past couple of months and that it is still gunning for a late 2021 market launch as initially scheduled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with the announcement, the automaker also shared a new video clip of the Hummer EV. Drone footage shows the model driving through the woods without giving away other details except for what has previously been revealed in its Super Bowl ad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hummer EV will be available in both SUT truck and SUV variants when it arrives. But the pickup will be launched first and the SUV will follow soon after. The model is expected to have the same size as other full-size gasoline pickups in the GM lineup but will have different hauling capabilities with the reported one-, two-, and three-motor versions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
