Following months of factory closures and production delays, Ford<\/a> remains optimistic that it will meet its timeline for the scheduled release of the new F-150 pickup truck this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most pressing concerns regarding Ford and its products is the promised arrival of a new-generation F-150 this year. This, after the automaker announced the temporary closure of its facilities due to the rampant spread of the coronavirus in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But in a call with investors to discuss dismal first-quarter earnings and the company’s plans to reopen its plants and offices again, Ford reconfirmed it is still pushing through with the launch of the full-sized pickup’s new version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No other than Ford’s Chief Financial Officer Tim Stone said the model is scheduled to arrive later this year, while Chief Operating Officer Jim Farley confirmed work is ongoing for the truck. He also claimed the model will include a gas-electric hybrid variant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The F-150<\/a> currently sold in the market dates back to 2015, easily making it one of the oldest models being offered to customers—even older than the present Ram 1500, Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra pickups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amid low sales in the first few months of the year, Ford is expected to do whatever it can to release a new version of the truck. The F-Series is the company’s profit machine and it will be instrumental in its efforts to make up for the losses due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from the new F-150, Ford is also banking on the market success of the 2021 Ford Bronco SUV as well as the Ford Bronco Sport and Mustang Mach-E electric SUV that are all due to arrive soon.
