Toyota<\/a> is growing its hybrid car lineup with the release of two models this month. The automaker confirmed in a statement that the new models will be joining the iconic Prius, which will be celebrating its 20th anniversary next model year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toyota, however, did not divulge further details. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Toyota models that have hybrid versions in the market are the Avalon, Corolla sedan, Camry, RAV4, and Highlander. Also joining the list is the standard Prius Hybrid, the Prius Prime plug-in hybrid, as well as the RAV4 Prime that’s due to arrive soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toyota has kept people guessing which of its models will get the hybrid treatment next.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A simple deduction would lead to the Corolla hatchback and the C-HR as likely candidates for the new hybrid variants. An electrified version of these two models could provide interested buyers utility, which is very popular among car buyers these days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the bigger cars, the 4Runner is another potential candidate. Although if the automaker’s European lineup is taken into consideration, there is already an existing C-HR hybrid, making it a safe bet. Between the 4Runner and the Corolla hatchback, the latter also seems to be the better option to hybridize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
