The highly anticipated release of the 2021 Ford F-150<\/a> is rumored to be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic that forced the automaker to halt its production for two months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report comes from an F150 Gen-14 forum. A post on the page showed a news bulletin from a fleet distributor, saying Ford pushed orders and production back by a few months for the upcoming generation of the well-loved truck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If it turns out to be true, this is the second time the automaker has bumped the model’s production schedule back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orders for the 2021 F-150 were initially up to open on May 11, but the schedule was moved to June 15. Now, according to the latest update, the company will start accepting orders for the truck on July 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ford scheduled the new F-150 to enter production at its truck facility in Dearborn, Michigan on September 28. But the news bulletin states that it is now rescheduled for October 12 and transferred to the Ford plant in Kansas City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ford declined to comment on the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new version of the truck is expected to feature a large touchscreen display with updated center stack controls, digital cockpit analog gauges for the Lariat trim, and a hybrid variant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ford<\/a> is gearing up to restart production at its facilities across the United States on May 18. But the two-month hiatus is expected to cause major changes in the automaker’s 2020-2021 timeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from the 2021 F-150, the company is also working on the release of the new Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport.
