Overall, they fixed the problem. They come with the plate attached to mount along with a replacement knob fthingy or the lift gate itself. The rear hatch seems excessively heavy so I'm surprised they can even hold it up. I need to push the hatch up the last few inches to get the full extension but they hold it in place.

I bought a pair of Strong Arm Liftgate Lift Supports along with a pair of Strong Arm Liftgate Glass Lift Supports. They were very reasonably priced and amazingly easy to fit), even for someone like me who usually relies on the service centre for jobs like this (I replaced all 4 supports in 30 minutes). I saved a lot of money by doing it myself and the supports work really well. Highly recommended.
