Hi there,
Please double-check the code you provided (P058). It is too short. It is missing a number. It could either be P0058 or P0581. If it is P0058, that points to an oxygen sensor bank 2, sensor 2. That would be the downstream sensor on bank 2 side of your vehicle's engine. If the code is P0581, that would be a cruise control issue. For more details, please click here for the code P0058, and click here for the code P0581. I hope this helps.

That is not a bad place to start, especially if there is any visible corrosion Take both cables off, clean each of them and the battery 'posts'. Check for any wear, cracks, or breaks which can cause a poor connection (replace if needed) The cables need to be un-connected for 30 minutes (maybe less). This may allow the code, time to reset. I usually get everything cleaned up and ready, then grab something to eat allow about 1 hour before I reconnect them. Reminder: Do not 'over tighten', but tighten enough, so the do not move. This will ensure a strong connection. I hope this helps and good luck!
