It seems like you're experiencing issues with the steering angle sensor and the clock spring in your 2008 Chevrolet Equinox. The steering angle sensor is typically connected to the clock spring, and it's crucial for various vehicle systems, including the stability control system. If the sensor appears to have been removed, it's essential to ensure it's properly installed and connected to the clock spring. If you purchased the part from the dealer, they should be able to provide guidance on how these components fit together and if a new airbag clock spring is necessary for the repair. It's advisable to consult with a qualified mechanic or the dealership for precise installation instructions and any additional parts needed to resolve the issue.

Hi there,
We do not have a diagram of the vehicle application to see the interconnected parts. It appears that you have doubts on the repair (and parts being recommended) by the dealership that fixed the problem. It is better to consult or get a 2nd opinion on another repair shop to give you more details of the parts that are needed to be replaced. It is hard for us to give an input since the problem needs real-time troubleshooting to identify the exact parts to be replaced.
As noted by one of our contributor expert, BNovosel, "the dealer, they should be able to provide guidance on how these components fit together and if a new airbag clock spring is necessary for the repair."
