Despite having a throttle body injection (TBI) and two fuel pumps, the engine is still sputtering even though it idles fine is a sign of problems from fuel delivery in general. Here are possible causes:
1. Clogged fuel filter. A clogged filter would restrict fuel flow (especially) once the throttle is under high demand (accelerating). The engine will sputter as fuel pressure drops along the way while accelerating.
2. Fuel pressure imbalance. If there are two fuel pumps and both have different specifications (flow rate..etc). This situation could cause lean or rich conditions at varying throttle positions (speed), which results to sputtering.
3. Dirty fuel injectors. A faulty injector can cause inconsistent fuel spray patterns causing uneven fuel delivery and engine hesitation.
4. Vacuum leaks. Any leaks in the vacuum line can disrupt the air-fuel mixture causing the engine to run lean and sputter at higher throttle inputs.

My experience with this issue was spark plugs more times than not. With a close 2nd place going to dirty injectors. I recommend Techron but there is dozens. I'd do a bottle of injector cleaner with a tank of premium. Like new every time. Seriously though, start with just your basic stripped down tune up and work out from there...easier, cheaper, and a lot of times fixes it. Belt and belt tensioner have also been some sneaky culprits.
