Hi there,
It looks like you've encountered a common issue with the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited EcoDiesel's DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) system. The DEF issue yellow light indicates a problem with the DEF system, which is vital for emission control. The DEF fluid top-off that you did is good. But there are times when the system is slow to register the change. If the messages were gone, but the check engine light remains, it could indicate the DEF issue is resolved, but the stored trouble code (P204F) is still triggering the check engine light. The code P204F indicates a problem with the DEF system's reductant injection system performance. The possible causes of it are as follows:
1. Wiring issues
2. Defective DEF injector
3. An issue with the DEF pump
4. Issues with the DEF fluid quality
5. Faulty NOX sensor
Here are some possible steps you can follow to try to fix the problem:
1. Reset the check engine light (use the scanner to reset codes by using the reset or clear codes)
2. Disconnect the Battery (manual reset), and remove the negative battery terminal for 10 to 15 minutes
3. Check if the DEF injector is clogged. If DEF crystallizes, it can clog the injector
4. It is possible that a software update is needed. Some Jeep EcoDiesels have had PCM/TCM updates for DEF system issues.
I hope those details help! Regards.
