Your vehicle is equipped with a neutral safety switch usually located in the steering column, shift linkage itself, or it can sometimes be on the transmission.
My 1999 dodge dakota will not go into park or reverse
I changed the shift cable and the transfercase due to the old one cracked and I recently changed the transmission fluid and filter
