A P0441 code indicates a problem with the EVAP system purge flow, meaning the engine computer is detecting that fuel vapor flow from the charcoal canister to the engine isn’t happening as expected. This is commonly caused by a faulty purge control valve/solenoid that’s stuck open or closed, a cracked or disconnected vacuum line, or sometimes a loose or failing gas cap. In some cases, wiring issues to the purge valve or a clogged charcoal canister can also trigger this code.
A good place to start is to check or replace the gas cap, then inspect the purge valve and its hoses for damage or sticking. If the purge valve is stuck open, you may notice hard starting after refueling or rough idle. Clearing the code after repairs and seeing if it returns will confirm the fix.
