On a 2009 Chevy Cobalt, the G400 series grounds are located in the rear of the vehicle, specifically in the trunk area, not under the hood. The primary G400 ground point is mounted to the body sheet metal behind the left (driver-side) trunk trim panel, very close to the left rear wheel well / quarter panel area. To access it, you’ll need to open the trunk, remove the driver-side trunk liner or carpeted side panel, and look for a group of black wires bolted to the body with a single bolt or stud--that's the G400 ground cluster.
On some builds, there is also a related rear ground (sometimes referenced as G401) located near the rear seatback or C-pillar area, but G400 itself is almost always behind the left trunk trim, not centered and not under the rear seat cushion.
