Answer Question
what operates the civic heater control valve that works with a cable
heat vary cool Honda Civic 1.7. All water issues good, radiator, thermostat, heater core (I back flushed it) Cold air wasn't too bad (Freon level ok). car does not overheat, therm stat opens and closes as it should. I checked the heat control valve, I could open and close valve manually, I put everything back together and now I have more heat =than I expected, now the Cold AC air will not get cool, (warm air stays hot) unable to regulate Temperature dial on dash. whether I put it on cold or hot. it stays hot. Changing the controls does route the air through the different vents as normal. Heater blower works fine (new cabin filters). I guess when I checked out the heat control valve, I must have left it open for heat,
but I can't see if the cable regulates that opening the way it should and I am not sure the Cable is working the valve the way it is supose to and don't know what exactly moves it open and closed, heat and no heat. etc. I have a new valve, it was too hard to get to for replacement but it manually opened and closed and I squirted water hose in it to make sure something wasn't blocking it. Now it appears to be open for all the heat.
Couldn't find info on this in the Haynes Book
