Answer Question
Should the CS pulley/har balancer, usung a breaker bar manually, be able to spin CW & CCW w/o reaching a stop poin
Attempting to remedy my vehicle's woes over this next week before going in to the shop. On Monday, 10/24, following a heavy rain, found myself in 4 feet of water. Engine stalled. Has not started since. I believe I have removed all water, have cleared intakes, changed oil, removed plugs and air filter. Inside is all dry. I've read that once I rotate CS pulley manually 360 at least twice, I should be ok to attempt to start. I turn the pulley clockwise, it comes to a point where it stops and will not go further. I'm not sure that standing on the breaker bar to force something to happen though I'd like to think it would blow out a potential hydro lock issue. When I turn the pulley counter clockwise, again, it goes so far to a point where it stops.
Any possible ideas on this? Or suggestions for a DIY'er as I have until this next Friday before my vehicle goes in.
Also. Could sensors be the issue? Might the CS position sensor have been damaged by water, now not working and causing the CS pulley to stop at the point it does?
I'm trying to avoid having my car totalled out. I don't want a new monthly car payment at this time. All suggestions appreciated.
