Answer Question
Issues accelerating 03grand am gt- new plugs/wires, ignition coils Issues going above 25 add prem gas improvement?
I had fuel pump replaced few mths after car began having issues accelerating.
It had new wires, plugs, coils put on and didnt fix issues.
i found out that guy who did fuel pump did not flush/replace fuel lines or fuel filter- idk much about cars but seems obvious to me you might do those.
which brings be to now and car hardly wants to go above 25 if i can get to 25 i can put on cruise and bit by bit increase speed easier thru cruise than if i hit gas pedal
When i use premium gas (shell nitro) it does improve and after initially filling can briefly drive with no issues 0-40 not one issue however it is only temporary.
By the time I get to 1/2 tank its right back to above condition
Use to get 250 in city miles on full tank w average 1/4 tank remaining.
Now Im lucky to get 75
I have fixed income so taking to "professional" not possible and last 2 "back yard mechanics" are taking advantage of my kindness.
Im smart and not scared of hard work. Im no mechanic tho.
Im hoping...praying with the proper advice and honesty I possibly could fix myself.
I know for fact my oxygen sensors are bad and need replaced? Could a beginner do that easily?
Im also thinking fuel filter needs replaced
Car has 113,000mph. Sad she is running this way appearance wise she is good condition all except little surface rust in door corner, and below gas fill flap.
Bought with 86,000 1 owner 2018
Dont drive much everything I need is located on main street I live on... Infuriatingly that has been nearly impossible for longer than id like to admit. A 5min drive takes 10-15 can only go on back roads, can't get on freeway at all and I cant afford another car.
Do you have any suggestions on what to do and what a beginner would be capable of most cost efficiently?
