2001 Tahoe will not accelerate in drive after getting wet.
2001 Tahoe will not accelerate after getting wet. I can rev engine in Neutral, but not in DRIVE. When it dries out it runs great.
Yesterday I went to the gym and while inside the skies opened up. I went to leave and started going, then acceleration stopped. Usually after a carwash it will take about 20 minutes to dry out and drive normally again. But not yesterday. I had to wait until the following day to go get it to make sure it dried out.
The vehicle purrs like a kitten on normal days. There are NO strange noises or smells.
Key Points:
-Runs perfect 99% of the time.
-After getting wet from carwash or rain, DOES NOT accelerate in Drive. 5 MPH tops.
-DOES accelerate and move quickly in Reverse.
-DOES Rev high RPMs in Neutral.
-After drying out, runs fine again.
