08 Chevy Aveo code P0340. Serv dept cleared. Can't duplicate. Park on incline.code again
Service department clears the code and tries to duplicate the error. Can't. They say I should be fine.
Had code P0240. They found hole in air line hose. Cut and spliced to fix the hole.
I have the car for less than 24 hours. Park on a slight incline, check engine light is on. My OBD shows code P0340 again. I didn't clear the code so they can use their more advanced reader to check the codes.
Major road trip in 1 week. Afraid of damaging engine. Can I do any of the work myself? With the car's age, I wonder if the sensor and wiring is worn out and needs replaced. I can't keep paying for labor if all they are doing is clearing codes and not look for the actual cause.
Can anyone help me tell them where to look first? 17 year old car will need parts replaced. Cheaper than buying a new one.
