Answer Question
Nissan D21 1994. No crank. Replaced starter ignition key cylinder, battery good, tried jumping no go.Makes clickin
Starts, runs, shut off then no crank, then starts. Did this for one year. Good battery, cables cleaned, replaced starter, ignition key cylinder (snap off bolts) so all I did was leave the old cylinder on and hook up the two plug-ins to the new ignition key cylinder... lights went on and no crank
.
Battery, cables ok, starter new, ignition key cylinder tried the new one and nothing. First the speed needle went out, next the gas gauge then the heat gauge then the heater motor. Replaced fuse and have heater motor. No speed gauge or gas gauge. What does the gas and speed gauge have to do with a no crank?
Turn key to start, lights come on, blinking noise seven times, clicking from under the hood and by my left knee behind plastic covering. Tried turning the key without pushing in the clutch and no clicking from the relays. So I imagine the clutch relay is working. Is my new starter faulty?
What am I forgetting to check. Ive wiggled the positive and negative battery cables and nothing. This is a common problem with a Nissan.
A normal car like a Chevy you replace the starter and you're good, not on a Nissan. Here's the thing, no one knows what it is, I've checked many sites and the answer is not given. What I see is "yah I've got the exact same problem no crank after replacing $200 or more in parts.
