i gassed my ford focus 2008 with chlorine gas, error. now car erratically starts or doesn't start. corroded metal.
I made the wrong gas for odor control insde ford focus 2008. I thought i made chlorine dioxide. I mistakingly made chlorine gas. It corroded interoir metal parts. car is irratic in whether starts or not. when not, the speedometer and rpm guage sstop working. the aircondional if turned on max high stting, turns off air conditioner. It is not the key fob. the fuses i think are ok. some eleictrical thing that causes mulltiple symptoms shorts our. If i turn on the light and thereis a beeping sound, i know car will start. if thre is no beeping sound warning me the lights are on, the car will not start. I dont think the emergency flah3ers work ieth when catr wont start. head lights turn on but no turn signal when car wont start. the airconditioning issue occrues whe nthe car is running (the air conditioning turns off when i turn it the max cold setting.
The reason for the odor was a ileft a 12 in bright lamp inside against teh passneger front seet while light ws turned on. It melted a 12 inch hole through the back of the seat. Car smelled really bad. I repalced the seat and washed the entire inside- even took out carperting and scrbbed it. Still had smell. so I gassed it but i made the wrong gas. ozone worked but it didnt remove the cause of the odor.
