Answer Question
A loud clunking in back upon acceleration. Stops @ 20 mph. We R away from home and don't want to get ripped off.
2015 Lincoln MKC started making a clunking sound somewhere behind front seats. Only happens from a stopped position until we hit 20mph.
Then we don't hear it. We are out of state and don't want to get ripped off. A Chevy dealership mention the rear differential but told us we need to take it to a Lincoln dealership for further diagnosis. Does this mean they really didnt know what was wrong with it? Can a local auto service station fix it or do we need to find a Lincoln dealership? I think the closest is 30 miles away. Can we even drive it that far without running into a problem. Any idea what this type of repair would cost? Senior citizens and don't want to get ripped off. Any help appreciated. Thanks
