It may be worth replacing the remote battery, any auto store can usually help you with this.

Hi there,
The symptoms you are describing shows a weak or draining key fob battery. If you notice, it still works if the distance is close to your vehicle. Check your car's owner's manual on how to open the key fob and replace the small round lithium battery. You can buy those locally from auto parts stores. I hope this helps!
