There is also another possibility and that is your heater core is going bad and it could be leaking into your floorboard check to see if floorboards are wet or if there is a sweet smell inside your car hen u drive it

Could be as steam from leaking vent cap. Cheap enough to try as a fix but you should check for coolant in the engine oil also.

Do a pressure test can buy a cheap kit from harbor freight if needed but I'd try that look and all the hoses heater corse and make sure coolant reservoir tank isn't leaking and try and see if you can see oil and coolant missing together
