Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Preliminary Preparations
Turn off the engine and engage the parking brake.
Open the hood using the hood release handle.
Step 2: Removing Components
To change the fender, first remove the headlight.
Remove the wheel arch trim by following these steps: Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the five screws holding the wheel arch trim.
Remove the trim.
Step 3: Detaching Mudguard and Bumper Cover
Use a ratchet and a 5.5mm socket to remove the three screws attaching the mudguard to the fender.
Remove the three screws attaching the bumper cover to the fender by following these steps:
Spray penetrating oil on the screws for easier removal.
Unscrew the screws using a ratchet and a 10mm socket.
The alignment of the fender with the door and the hood must be done with both the door and hood in closed position. Start by replacing the three screws holding the fender along the length of the hood, without tightening them too much in order to keep the necessary play to adjust the alignment of the fender with the hood.
Check for proper alignment of the fender with the door. Once adjusted, lock the fender in position by tightening the screw located in the door opening.
