Remove the cable from its housings
Use a flat head screwdriver to unclip all the clips that hold the ABS sensor cable in place. You can also use a fork to help you.
Disconnect the connector by pushing on the red plastic tab, then prying the tab and pulling it.
Shift the ABS sensor cable.
Using a fork, unclip the ABS sensor cable retaining clip located on the rear axle.
Remove the ABS sensor from the rear axle
The ABS sensor is located behind the rear brake backing plate. Using a ratchet and a Torx T30 socket, unscrew the ABS sensor’s retaining bolt. Then, remove the sensor by jiggling it back and forth.
Don’t hesitate to spray penetrating oil. Then remove the sensor with a fork and pliers.
Clean
Using a cylindrical brush, clean the sensor area to make it easier to install the new sensor once the parts have been reassembled.
Before installing the ABS sensor, we recommend that you thoroughly clean its location using a brush and fine sandpaper.
Finish with brake cleaner and wipe with a paper towel.
Install the ABS sensor
Take the new sensor.
Apply grease to the sensor to prevent corrosion in the long term.
Insert the sensor into its housing. Then, retighten the retaining bolt.
Finish off tightening with a ratchet.
Reclip the cable in its housings
Clip the ABS sensor cable back on the rear axle.
Plug the electrical connector back in. And lock it. Then, reclip all of the ABS sensor cable retaining clips.
Operation complete.
