To replace the tail light bulbs on your Silverado 3 it couldnt’ be easier. You will be asked to access to the tail lights, access the bulbs, finalise the reassembly as well as carry out a few other steps. You can carry out this tutorial of 6 chapters in 15 minutes. Bring your Torx T15 screwdriver and your paper towels and let’s get started!

Access to the tail lights
Turn your engine off and set the parking brake.
Open the tailgate.
To detach the taillight assembly from the vehicle body, remove the two screws with a T15 Torx screwdriver.
You can now extract the taillight from its slot.
Tips
To increase the lifespan of the bulbs, we would suggest never touching the glass with your fingers or cleaning them carefully with paper towels before putting them back.
Replace the tail light bulbs
To remove the light bulb sockets, turn them counterclockwise and pull them out.
To remove the 7443 brake/taillight/turn signal bulb, simply pull on it.
Take the new bulb. Put the new light bulb in the socket.
Replace the reverse light bulb
To remove the 921 reverse light bulb, just pull on it.
Take the new bulb.
To reassemble, repeat the process but in reverse.
Replace the tail light bulbs
To remove the second 7443 brake/taillight/turn signal bulb, simply pull on it.
Take the new bulb. Put the new light bulb in the socket.
Put the sockets into the taillight housing and turn them clockwise to lock them in place.
Finalise the reassembly
The light is held in place by studs encased directly in the car body. Put the light back in. Screw the two holding screws back in.
Operation complete.
