How to replace the air filter 2003-2007 Honda Accord

To replace the air filter on your Accord it couldnt’ be easier. You will be asked to open the hood, access the air filter, remove the filter as well as carry out a few other steps. You can carry out this tutorial of 6 chapters in 30 minutes. Take your 5,5 mm socket and your 8 mm socket and let’s get started!

Step-by-Step Installation

Chapter 1:

Open the hood

Step 1/1

Turn off the ignition, set the parking brake. Pull on the hood release lever and open the hood.

Chapter 2:

Access the air filter

Step 1/4

To access the air filter more easily, we recommend removing the air intake boot.

Chapter 2:

Step 2/4

Using a multi-bit screwdriver and a 5.5 mm socket, unscrew the two air intake boot holding clamps.

Chapter 2:

Using needle-nose pliers, squeeze the metal clamp and disconnect the vent hose from the boot.

You can now remove the air intake boot and move it to the side.

Remove the filter

Using a multi-bit screwdriver, an extender and an 8 mm socket, unscrew the 4 airbox cover holding bolts.

Lift the cover and move it aside.

Take out the air filter.

Clean the airbox

Before putting in the new filter in place, it is important to clean out any impurities or leaves stuck in the filter compartment.

Install the new filter

Take the new filter.

You can now put the new filter in place.

Put the cover back in place.

Then, screw the 4 retaining bolts back in.

Finalise the reassembly

Put the air intake boot back in place.

Pinch the metal clamp and reconnect the vent hose to the air boot.

Screw the two clamps back on.
