Chapter 1:

Lift the vehicle

Turn your engine off and set the parking brake.

Loosen the stud bolts on the front wheels.

Lift the front of your vehicle. Place the vehicle on the jack stands.

Unscrew the upper ball joint

Using an 18 mm wrench, unscrew the nut on the upper ball joint.

Restrict the rotation of the ball joint using a ratchet and an 8 mm socket.

If you have only lifted one side of the vehicle to carry out this operation, you need to slightly raise the lower control arm using a jack in order to compensate for the tension exerted by the sway bar on the end link.

Finish unscrewing the nut.

Remove the washer and bushing. Remove the jack.

Unscrew the lower ball joint

Repeat the operation on the lower ball joint using a ratchet and an 18mm socket.

You can now remove the link.

Install the lower ball joint

Take the new link and unscrew the nuts supplied with it.

Remove the washer and bushing.

Install it in the sway bar, then in the lower control arm.

Start by tightening the nut on the lower ball joint until it makes contact.

Use an 18 mm wrench to keep the ball joint from rotating.

Unscrew the upper ball joint

Then, using the jack, raise the lower control arm so that the upper nut can be installed.

Install the bushing and washer. Then, screw back on the nut until it’s tight. Remove the jack.

Tighten the nuts with a torque wrench.

Put the vehicle back on the ground
