To replace the turn signal switch on your Ram 1500 we’re here to help. You’ll need to open the hood, remove the steering column cover, remove the turn signal switch as well as carry out a few other steps. You can carry out this tutorial of 5 chapters in 30 minutes. Take your Torx T20 screwdriver and your plastic fork and let’s get started!

Open the hood
Turn your engine off and set the parking brake.
Remove the steering column cover
Using a Torx T20 screwdriver, loosen the two screws holding the plastic trim of the steering column.
Using a plastic fork, pry the upper plastic trim so that you can remove it.
Remove the turn signal switch
Disconnect the electrical connector from the turn signal switch by pressing the plastic tab.
You can now remove the turn signal switch by pressing the locking tab and pulling it upwards.
Put the turn signal switch back
Take the new turn switch signal.
Put it back in its place.
Then reconnect it.
Put the steering column cover back
Put the upper plastic trim back in place.
Then screw the 2 retaining screws back in.
You can now test your turn signal switch.
Operation complete.
