To replace the spark plugs on your Camry it couldnt’ be easier. You will be asked to open the hood, access the spark plug, remove the coil as well as carry out a few other steps. You can carry out this tutorial of 9 chapters in 35 minutes. Take your 16 mm spark plug socket and your torque wrench and let’s get started!

Open the hood
Turn off your vehicle’s ignition, set the parking brake, pull the hood release handle and open the hood.
Visualise
Remove the engine cover.
You should now be able to see where the spark plugs are located.
Remove the coil
Disconnect the power from the ignition coil.To do this, push on the tab and pull on the connector.
Using a ratchet and a 10 mm socket, remove the bolt holding the coil.
You can now carefully remove the coil, making small lateral back and forward movements.
Clean
Tip: we recommend using a thin plastic tube taped to the end of a vacuum to properly clean around the spark plug.This prevents the dirt from falling into the motor.
Remove the spark plugs
Using a socket wrench, an extender and a 16mm spark plug socket, loosen the spark plug. Finish unscrewing by hand.Remove the spark plug.
Install the new spark plugs
Grab the new spark plug.
Put the new spark plug in place by inserting it directly into the spark plug socket, which will allow you to gently bring it to the screwing support.
Always start screwing by hand, then finish by fixing it in place with a socket wrench.
Install the coil
Put the coil back, pushing it in as far as possible.
You can then screw the bolt back in using a ratchet.
Reconnect the ignition coil.
Finish the operation
You can now repeat the process on the other spark plugs.
Put the engine cover back on.
Operation complete.
