Step-by-Step Installation

Chapter 1:

Turn off your vehicle’s ignition

Step 1/1

Turn off your vehicle’s ignition, set the parking brake, pull the hood release handle and open the hood.

Set up

Start by removing the plastic cover by pulling on the 9 plastic rivets using a fork. Then remove the cover.

You can now remove the battery.

Using a 10mm wrench, unscrew the air inlet duct bolt. Then remove the resonator.

Remove various components

Using a ratchet, an extender and a 10mm socket, unscrew the 2 bolts holding the airbox to its supports.

Disconnect the airflow meter connector. Next, using a fork, remove the rivet holding the connector cable.

Using a ratchet and a 10mm socket, unscrew the air duct holding clamp on the airbox. Then move the airbox aside.

Using the fork, remove the rivet holding the connector cable to the airbox.

You can now remove the airbox.Remove the battery container.

Using a ratchet, an extender and a 10mm socket, unscrew the airbox support bolt. Then move the support aside.

Disconnect the starter

Disconnect the ignition connector.

Remove the rubber protection.Next, using a 12mm wrench, unscrew the nut holding the positive terminal of the starter.Then remove the terminal.

Using a ratchet, an extender and a 14mm socket, unscrew the first starter retaining bolt.Do the same with the second retaining bolt.

Apply penetrating oil to the base of the starter.Next, using a hammer and a chisel, disengage the starter from its support.

You can now remove the starter.

Install the new starter

Step 1/4

Take the new starter, and put it in its place. Next, screw the 2 retaining bolts back in.

Finish the tightening of the bolts with a torque wrench.

Put the positive terminal back on the new starter. Then screw the retaining nut back in.

Put the rubber protection back in place.Reconnect the ignition connector.

Put the components back in place

Screw the airbox support back on.Put the battery container back in place.

Put the airbox back in place, while clipping the connector cable back on.Put the air duct back on the airbox.

Reconnect the airflow meter connector. Then screw the hose clamp back on.

Screw the two airbox retaining bolts back on.

Put the resonator back in the airbox. Then screw the air inlet duct bolt back.

Reconnect the battery

Put the battery in place and push it firmly into its frame.

Start by putting the positive terminal back in place.Then put the negative terminal back on.

Put the plastic cover back on, then put the 9 rivets back on.
