Question: Is this the same switch to disengage also?Rocco A. / Feb 12, 2022
Hi Rocco, I'm glad to help you out. Yes. If the 4WD (4-wheel drive) actuator is turned off, then it disengages the 4WD. Click this link to order the part while it's on sale: https://www.carparts.com/4wd-actuator/replacement/repf288301?can=CPAP3648
I hope this helps. Happy shopping.

It actually only operates the vacuums when engaged. The 2 wheel drive actuater creates suction when it is engaged, and then it stops creating suction when the 4 wheel drive actuater is engaged.

I don't think that they are compatible. I'd imagine internally they are rather different

Question: What is the differenceof actuater and solinoid?Rodrigo C. / Mar 21, 2023
Hi Rob, I'm pleased to assist you. A 4WD actuator is responsible for locking a vehicle's differential, enabling its selectable 4WD mode. It also controls traction and the amount of torque in each tire. A 4WD hub locking solenoid directly replaces the original equipment solenoid. It operates when it receives the signal from the driver's input to engage or disengage from the front axle. Question: There are 2 solenoids mounted side by side, one engages the 4x4 and the other disengages. Are these solenoids the same part number? 1997 Ford Expedition 5.4 liter engine.Nolan H. / Jan 09, 2023
Hi Olan, thank you for reaching out. No, they are different. This item is a 4-wheel drive locking hub disengage solenoid. I suggest reaching out to your local dealership for the part numbers of the solenoids. They may be able to help. Have a nice day.
