Question: Just received ac compressor. 2009 honda crv base model.. does it come with oil in it or do I need to add oil.?Nestor M. / Oct 04, 2024
Hi Nestor, I'm glad to assist you. Yes. It is pre-filled with oil. But manufacturers recommend that you drain the "shipping oil" and refill with "proper PAG oil" (amount) upon installation. The other purpose of the added oil is to protect the compressor during its stay on the dealer's shelves, retailers' stores, and during transport. Once installed on your vehicle, a mechanic will start the a/c charging process (vacuuming and freon loading process). Get it done by a certified mechanic or your trusted local auto repair shop.

Question: Does this have the oil in it?Ricks254 / Jun 07, 2024
Hi Rick, I'm glad to assist you. The a/c compressor comes with a certain amount of oil. It is needed for lubrication of the compressor's moving mechanical parts. But, manufacturers recommend that you drain the "shipping oil" and refill with "proper oil (PAG)" ahead of installation and loading of the refrigerant to the a/c system. The other purpose of the added oil is to protect the compressor during its stay on the dealer's shelves, retailers' stores, and in the course of transport. It is guaranteed to fit the 2007 to 2014 Honda CR-V 2.4L, 2007 to 2014 Honda CR-V 2.3L, 2012 to 2015 Honda Civic Si 2.4L, and 2013 to 2015 Acura ILX 2.4L.
