part was a great fit after swapping it in for the OEM clock spring and has been working great for around two weeks. Shipping was pretty quick so I’m happy with my purchase. It was also the only clock spring that I could find for a reasonable price.

This clockspring fit my 1999 Jeep Cherokee with Cruise control. Part condition and quality were as expected. It has been installed now for a couple weeks and I have not had any issues or problems. Will update in the future if I do experience issues or failure.

Question: 97 Jeep Cherokee also has horn air bag and cruise will this be a problem?Pablo M S. / Oct 05, 2020
Hi Pablo,
Yes, this column clock spring is compatible with the 1997-2001 Jeep Cherokee All Submodels All Engines w/Speed Control (Cruise Control) and there will be no problem with the horn and airbag.
GG
There are two models of clock spring- with, or without cruise control. If you have cruise control, make sure you get the right one. They both have horn and airbag connections.

Answered by Gilginas L. / Mon, Oct 05They have one for Cherokees with and without cruise control. You need to order the one for Cherokees with cruise control if your vehicle has cruise control.

Answered by Rocky B. / Wed, Oct 07Question: i bought a clock spring model #56009071 for my 1999 jeep cherokee sport. it has cruise control. after installing my check engine light went off, fixing the airbag issue, however my cruise control does not work. wtf?norman D. / Aug 09, 2022
Hi Jay, I'm glad to assist you. Please check the connections carefully if there are no prong connectors that were pushed back, resulting in loose terminals. If everything has been checked carefully, and the problem remains. You can have the part returned or exchanged.
JE
hi Jay, i would first re check the connects, make sure you hear a snap, put it all back together and check again. If the cruise control still doesn't work, there is a small vacuum line on the right front fender, tucked just inside the fender by the fuse box, that could have come loose, its just a small rubber tube that connects 2 lines, mine came loose once, and did not trigger the check engiine light, the cruise just didn't work.

Answered by Jim S. / Wed, Aug 10Jeonino E. is correct. Chrysler electronics are finicky. Disturbing connections often cause other issues. There are connections in and on the column that can be disturbed during the change out of the spring (ask me how I know - Ha!) The issues was resolved by disconnecting and reconnecting the cruise harness. As a recommendation, use (sparingly) a bit of dielectric grease on your connections when putting them back together.
