AS advertised and just what this Tahoe neededRear, Driver And Passenger Side Air Spring Coil-Rite Series, Set Of 2
4.0/5
My '01 Tahoe has been lowered by the previous owner, 20" rims and low profile tires too. Looked great and low mileage plus a great CarFax report for cheap. trouble was that the axle snubbers were also 13-14 years old and it wanted to bottom out and as the axles banged the frame, the sound would make me cringe. What to do? Having just installed new shocks on all 4 corners, spending a few hundred dollars for air shocks wasn't appealing. So, I came upon these Firestone air bags that fit inside the rear coil springs for under $100 bucks. Installation is pretty straight forward. I took the coils out because it was easier for me to push the de-flated bags through the gap, be-installed the springs, ran the lines as directed and inflated as per directions. Voila! My only change was to find a 1/4" T push to install fitting so now I have one inflation line instead of the 2 because it's easier to balance the pressure for me that way. I use this Tahoe to tow our 2 Harleys when we head north for a few weeks each year and this airbag from Firestone will definitely help the truck's highway and backroad manners.

It required me to return to the service center 3 times to correct a problem of air loss All tree times the cause was the slip on type of air hose connector that this unit comes with/ All 4 connections leaked and two would not stay fastened at all.I finally had to purchase micro clamps at a cost of $8 to tighten around the connections. It would be a better spring if the push on clamps were replaced with something of better quality.
