Question: Will replacing this part allow me to shift from first to second to third and drive for on 98 Honda Accord LX 3.0 V6?Vernon N. / May 17, 2022
Hi Vernon, I'm pleased to assist you. No. The role of the automatic transmission shift solenoid is to control the flow of transmission fluid on your 1998 Honda Accord LX. Based on your description, do you have a manual transmission? I suggest calling our Sales Team at 1-866-529-0412 for further assistance. Thank you for reaching out. Have a good one.

When I put those in my trucks transmission it worked, but I also slid out the valves that were getting stuck making the transmission not shift. Plus I didn’t change the transmission fluid because for some unknown reasons changing the trans fluid will make matters worse. But yes, it did the job that they were designed to do. I’m satisfied. Good luck..

Answered by sandra P. / Fri, May 20Yes but sometimes it's just not the shift solenoid. It could be your Sun gear going out. That will also hinder your shifting problems. I would take it in and have them check it out just to make sure. I bought a shift solenoid for my car. Found out that it was The Sun gear that was no good in the transmission

Question: 1999 Honda Accord V6 Auto Trans - Does this solenoid control the overdrive lock-in / lock-out also, or is there a separate part for that function?Michael / Nov 07, 2023
Hi Michael, I'm pleased to assist you. The shift solenoid controls the shifting of the gears in the transmission. If you are having problems with the overdrive lock-in/lock-out, you will need to replace the overdrive solenoid. However, we do not have it available for the 1999 Honda Accord. If you are still interested in the shift solenoid, you can use the link below to directly place your order while supplies last. I hope this helps, and happy shopping!
