Question: Will a broken front axle prevent the transmission from going into any gears?Warren T. / Dec 29, 2024
Hi Warren, thank you for reaching out. A broken axle cannot prevent the transmission from going into gears since the transmission gears are inside the transmission assembly. However, this will prevent the effective power transfer to the wheels. The symptoms of a broken transmission are similar to those of a broken axle. We highly recommend that a certified mechanic diagnose your vehicle to pinpoint the part needing replacement.
