Good replacement camera for Ford Explorer. Install was quick and easy. Only gave 4 stars because I can't assess how long it will last--I've been through 3 replacements so I'm hoping this will last longer than others.

Hi Matt, As per checking, based on the factory original part number-23146157. Yes, this is the one mounted to the rear of the tailgate near or on the door handle of the tailgate for your selected vehicle application.

Replaced my 2011 Silverado factory with this. A squirrel chewed the wires. Slight difference in the two cameras, but it works.

Yes this replaces the camera in the tailgate handle bezel. Just make sure you have the 2 plugs and not the single plug.

Hi John, This has no install instructions since this would replace the defective or worn out one by a knowledgeable or experienced mechanic as we recommend. Or better if you can rely on a trusted vehicle specific repair manual as a guide.

There are no guidelines on this backup camera. It was a perfect replacement on my 2013 silverado 1500 though. Easy install. Just fish the new lines through using the old lines. The new one used a different sized torx bit to hold the camera is all.

It’s actually really easy just pop off the plastic near the handle then follow the wire down through the tailgate and under the bed of the truck if I recall

it is a factory replacement for the factory installed camera using o.e. wiring. For the years /models listed it is a plug and play camera . It most likely will not work on aftermarket setups and may not work for dealer installed units like those that come with aftermarket alarm systems
