Question: Will this be the same part as a blower motor transistor? My Manuel specifically says that I have a transistor, not a resistor.Rachel` S. / Jan 23, 2022
Hi Rachel, I'm happy to assist you. Yes. The blower motor resistor is a common name for this part. A blower motor transistor works the same as the blower motor resistor. This part is responsible for the blower fan speed. Be careful! The motor I serviced was a VF motor, which required a circuit to make an AC signal to change the motor speed. Usually, a conventional motor just uses a resistor with multiple taps to give you multiple static speed settings (i.e., low, med, high). They are not interchangeable.
