Question: 2011 Honda Accord, replaced the blower motor and resistor but no new gasket for the resistor in the kit I ordered. Th old gasket is not reusable and I can't seem to find just the gasket in any web searches. Is the gasket a must with the resistor?MICHAEL O. / Jan 29, 2023
Hi Michael, I'm glad to assist you. You could make an improvised rubber gasket with a similar shape to the base of the part, that would be doable. We do not carry the gasket itself only. At some point, the blower motor resistor can be installed without it.

gasket is not a must and really does not matter. However recommend getting a Honda part not a knockoff, The replacement part does not work as designed and is only essentially an off-max fan switch. There are no speeds in between. I will replace again with a Honda part.

Answered by Daniel M. / Mon, Jan 30Question: I have a 2008 Honda Accord EX 2 dr coupe with a 2.4 liter engine. My question: when I engage the MAX A/C switch the blower ac volume of air does not increase so is this a resistor problem or a blower motor problem?jah238 / May 02, 2022
Hi James, thank you for reaching out. It could either be the blower motor or the resistor. We highly suggest that a certified mechanic diagnose the vehicle to pinpoint the part that needs replacement. You can use this link to go back to the item page and continue the order: https://www.carparts.com/blower-motor-resistor/replacement/rh19180002?can=CPAP3648_20220502
I hope this helps.

i replaced both the blower motor and the resistor. They are over 14 years old . Your under the dash might as well replace both and I feel your better off with two pieces meant to work together. But if the air flow is good in every speed but does not increase in max maybe the damper for max air is not closing. Remember max air causes the air in the car to recirculate to help cool the car faster.

From what I’ve learned, the blower motor gets old and draws more current burning out the resistor. It’s best to just put both new in, I did. The new motor will spin up nicely and be quieter, it’s not a difficult change to do yourself. Both parts are under the glove box and accessible. 2010 civic si here. Good luck!
