Answered by Jeonino E. / Thu, Sep 08Yes that part controls the fan speed. That is why it is called a resistor. It limits th e current to spin the fan up. Yo can check each speed circuit on the resistor by jumping a hot wire to each of the terminals at the plug to the resistor, usually four terminals. One for each speed.

My concern is that from the research that I have done this particular one is for the digital numeric control the one I just removed off of my truck but I have the standard manual heat and cool knows and well as the manual fan speed know.
