When I first turned the fan on, it rubbed against the housing and made a horrible noise. I connected the fan outside the housing, turned it on and used a belt sander to sand down the overall height of the fan so it wouldn't rub against the housing. On high speed it makes more noise than the OEM fan. But it better than not having a fan at all.
