Hi Robert, I didn't have to remove the "old" one, it came off on its own through usage. If you look closely, the bumper has a hole behind the reflector such that a well placed rock/debris from tire spinning can force it out. I think it can be pushed from behind with a punch through the hole. Good luck! BTW the new one was a perfect fit !
