You may change just one , however it will definitely perform more smoothly if all 4 are changed due to the wear on the connectors and coils . Save the old ones as replacements for future repairs.

Hi Connie, Yes, if this is the part that needs to be replaced based on the engine light code, the engine check light will turn off. The camshaft position sensor enables the engine control to determine the exact position of the crankshaft drive. This information is required to calculate the ignition point and injection point, among other things.

Hi Lance, Upon checking, the vehicle has 2 camshaft position sensors. One for the intake one for the exhaust. Both are located externally and can be removed without having to remove the timing cover.
