Okay, so I got the intake delivered last Sunday and finally after having a day that wasn't in the 30's and low 40's, I was able to put it on. This was super simple and very easy to follow along with the instructions. I decided to buy from this site because I was finding this intake was the same price no matter what web site I went to. The two morons that wrote the reviews before purchased it made me realize that they had no idea what they were doing during their install. YES it will consume more fuel, as any higher performing auto part usually does; especially given that this provides more oxygen to the engine meaning that the computer will tell it to supply more fuel, making a bigger bang, allowing you to reach faster speeds. As far as the other guy mentioning a thump or bang... he obviously screwed up somewhere along the way. Like I said, this was super easy to follow along with and the final result was that after the initial start up, the idle leveled out pretty quick and the exhaust had a slight roar to it that it didn't before, which I love! The vehicle pulls faster than it did before and I highly recommend buying this intake!

In my 2015 Explorer xlt, unit went in great but car started with a very hard clunk seemingly in thr transmission. Ran very poorly, rough and difficulty getting to even 30 mph. Obvious problem, many troble lights on dash and message toservice vehicle advancetrac? Reinstalled the oem unit and vehicle was fine again. Ford dealer says this unit should work, going to try to install themselves. Wiil repost if successful. Dissapointed! Any help K&N?

I bought this to get a more aggressive performance sound under acceleration and a bit more responsiveness. It was also supposed to improve fuel economy due to a better air fuel ratio, but this was not the case. In fact it went from an average of 13.5L/100km to 15L/100km. And this is with me trying to drive very conservative, coasting down hill and using momentum uphill without flooring it, techniques that have previously allowed me to reach 11.9L/100km. With the intake the best I could get so far was 14.9. Definitely not impressed.
